Provider Portal:


Built on Service Oriented Architecture (“SOA”), ORBIT is IGI's comprehensive solution for managed care companies and allows them to implement a provider portal to interconnect physicians, hospitals, labs, and the payer systems. The solution provides on-line transaction status for claims, member benefits, referrals / pre-certifications, and more.

IGI understands that all trading partners do not necessarily need all ORBIT services, and many trading partners can only share information in limited ways. ORBIT was built from the ground up as a plug-and-play workflow solution providing the user with only the services they need. It employs a backed system utilizing customizable switching to reach desired partners either directly or through intermediaries. ORBIT offers batch, online, and real-time transactions.


ORBIT can be private labeled to meet specific business needs and can be licensed to run at the client’s facility or at IGI's data center.

The ORBIT Portal consists of a series of secure and customizable web-based front-end tools that allow the provider community to interact with health plans, hospitals, or clearinghouse switches for all their transactions. Some of the front-end tools that are available are:

  • Eligibility Dispatcher is a front-end tool that enables providers to submit online eligibility inquiries that are routed to the appropriate payer’s eligibility database or switch. This application returns an immediate real-time response on member, dependant, and plan details and, thereby, eliminates the problem of waiting for a response on the phone. Also available to the providers are member rosters and panel listings.
  • Case Management Dispatcher is an application that allows PCPs, referring providers, specialists, and payers to exchange referrals, pre-certifications, and authorizations over the web. This tool is designed to be an intermediary between the referring physician, the specialist, and the hospital. The system manages the utilization of the services covered as well as member eligibility.
  • Enrollment Dispatcher is a member enrollment front-end that allows employees and health plan members to enroll via an electronic form on the web. It has batch plug-in capabilities for primary HR systems including SAP and PeopleSoft. This tool allows every HR department at the group site to eliminate the process of mailing out enrollment forms to the payer.

Dispatchers are also available for claims, claim status, remittance advice, pharmaceutical, and financial transactions.
